SA university scholarships for 2027

Support is available for first-year students through to PhD candidates. A specific category assists rural students moving to Adelaide to study.

Individual scholarships range in value from $5000 to $10,000. Some include formal work experience and/or networking opportunities.

The focus is on supporting and encouraging students looking to build careers in areas that are considered priorities for South Australia’s growth and prosperity. These include:

• Advanced manufacturing and new technologies
• Water, energy and climate change
• Agriculture, aquaculture and food production
• Space and defence technologies
• Resources, energy and sustainability
• Enabling technologies in health

Importantly, Playford Trust scholarships and awards offer more than just valuable financial support. They significantly enhance a CV, open doors early on, and impress potential employers.

Below is the full list of scholarships now available. For those offering work placements or holiday experience, we recommend students register early so we can pass details on to the relevant partners.

Applications are online and can be completed in stages. Simply follow the links at playfordtrust.com.au/scholarships-and-awards.

Closing date is Friday 15 January 2027.

Thanks and congratulations to all our partners and donors. We couldn’t do what we do without them!
